Job Summary:
Provides security services to promote a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, physicians, and assets.
Job Responsibilities:
Performs proactive monitoring of and timely responses to potential/actual security threats.
Investigates and manages all security incidents and hazards on the premises and other organizational properties.
Maintains knowledge of and follows policies and procedures regarding alarms and emergency/disaster preparedness plans.
Facilitates planned drills and simulations.
Provides information and assistance to staff and visitors to promote their safety on the premises.
Manages facility access and security surveillance systems.
Manages violent behavior patients and visitors utilizing crisis management training.
Monitors critical systems such as fire alarms, generators, elevators, and emergency call boxes.
Performs threats and hazard assessments by both foot and vehicle patrol.
Acts as a liaison with local law enforcement.
Skills and Attributes:
Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
Works under direct supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

High school diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or higher required upon hire
Additional Education Information
A combination of education, training and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
Driver - Valid driver's license and 21 years of age required upon hire AND
AVADE Workplace Violence Prevention Level III Provider required within 90 days of employment in this position AND
IAHSS-Basic/Advanced Training Certificate- Completion of Basic/Advanced Certification Exam from International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety preferred
