Key Responsibilities:
Fragile Context Programming and Peacebuilding Intern
Remote within the US
World Vision Internships offer a three-month opportunity for talented students and recent graduates eager to dive into the international relief and development field. We are dedicated to giving you a meaningful learning experience, where you will grow, gain valuable skills, and connect with other passionate professionals who share our mission.
Internship Opportunity
Join World Vision’s Fragile Context Programming and Peacebuilding team as an intern and be part of the global effort to bring hope to the hardest places. Our team leads World Vision’s approach to programming in fragile and conflict-affected contexts, driving peacebuilding and conflict sensitivity work across the partnership. We also represent World Vision globally on the Humanitarian-Development-Peace (HDP) Nexus, showing how peacebuilding and resilience can transform lives.
As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience with real-world challenges—from learning World Vision’s frameworks for fragile contexts and peacebuilding to strengthening your research, analysis, and communication skills. You will develop cross-cultural collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities, while enhancing your writing, presentation, and design expertise—all alongside a passionate global team making a difference every day.
What You'll Do:
Research & Analysis
Dive into literature on peacebuilding, conflict sensitivity, and faith-based engagement in fragile contexts to uncover key insights.
Analyze program reports and evaluations to spot lessons learned and best practices that drive real impact.
Stay on top of global policy trends—like the HDP Nexus, localization, and youth in peacebuilding—and summarize what they mean for World Vision.
Knowledge Management & Communications (working with the Knowledge Management Specialist)
Help craft compelling case studies that showcase World Vision’s peacebuilding and fragile context programming.
Design and develop knowledge products—think briefs, infographics, and presentations—that make learning easy to share across the organization.
Keep our internal databases, toolkits, and resource libraries fresh and user-friendly.
Learning & Capacity Building
Join and document engaging learning events, webinars, and workshops that connect global teams.
Assist in organizing peer-learning sessions with field teams and regional advisors to spark collaboration.
Track and summarize emerging trends and innovations in peacebuilding and humanitarian action for team discussions.
Cross-Team Engagement
Collaborate with other technical sectors like education, child protection, and humanitarian response to see the bigger picture.
Participate in interdepartmental and partner meetings to gain exposure to global policy and program debates.
