Job Description:
Act as an escalation point for other IT Managers
Act as a backup for other IT Managers
Can act in the Director of Enterprise Applications stead as requested/required, covering supervisory responsibilities, meeting attendance/facilitation, etc.
Seek out opportunities to optimize IT processes and workflows
Lead and participate in the design and improvement of IT processes and workflows
Acts as a mentor to IT Managers, application team members, and other IT employees by furthering their skill sets and developing their abilities to successfully complete assignments of increasing scope and difficulty
Maintain general management responsibility for the electronic health record (EHR) Access, HIM, and Revenue Cycle staff
Ensure that application team members practice excellent application stewardship (documentation, version control, change management, testing, etc.)
Builds and facilitates the Access, HIM, and Revenue Cycle solutions team and ensures positive and effective staff participation in projects and ongoing support
Maintain effective ongoing communication with providers, business and clinical departments, and IT leadership
Facilitate highly responsive and effective customer service, and maintain excellent working relationships with other IT and operational leadership
Ensure the timely review and effective closure of Help Desk Incidents and Change Orders assigned to the application team
Act as an escalation point (business days and after-hours) for application support issues
Foster an environment that emphasizes a culture of team work, excellent customer service skills, and a desire to advance the adoption and efficiencies of application/modules
Clearly define the roles, responsibilities, and priorities of the application teams
Lead and participate in third-party vendor and product searches, comparisons, and selections
Attend meetings as required and facilitate/participate on committees as directed
Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to maintain certification/licensure, and/or keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise
Acts as primary point of contact for leadership in the operations and clinical departments to coordinate the patient financial systems solution implementation and support activities.
Collaborate with providers, business and clinical departments, and other IT teams to provide on-going EHR application enhancement and support
Coordinate and participate in workflow assessment and design sessions
Participate in system development, configuration, testing, system patch testing, and application training
Lead estimation and prioritization efforts for optimization projects
Maintain an awareness and expertise as the EHR system and architecture is changed over time
Maintain proficiency in knowledge of the EHR and how it is configured at Scottish Rite for Children
Maintain a positive attitude when dealing with deadlines and demanding, highly stressful situations
Adhere to policies, procedures, standards, and methodology pertaining to Governance, Change Management, Project Management, Incident Management, and System Access and Security
Bachelor's degree or commensurate health care experience required; applicable Master’s degree is desirable
5 or more years of healthcare experience required
2 or more years of Epic experience required
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Minimum 4 years of managerial experience is required
Knowledge/proficiency in associated EHR 3rd party applications: real time eligibility, claims clearing, enterprise content management, etc. is desirable.
Access, HIM, and Revenue Cycle process design and optimization experience is desirable.
A thorough working knowledge of access and revenue cycle business practice (registration, scheduling, patient billing and collection, coding, etc.) is required.
