Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is an independent, nonprofit organization providing adult cancer treatment and groundbreaking research focused on cancer and infectious diseases. Based in Seattle, Fred Hutch is the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in Washington.

Responsible for leading and participating in the activities of the courier transport including the transport of transportation of lab specimens, medical records, medications, and patient related documentation within the Fred Hutch clinic, campus, off-site clinics and via shuttle service or by driving a Fred Hutch vehicle.
Responsibilities
- Completes all duties of Courier I, II and III
- Participate in and provide feedback on annual and quarterly (if necessary, for new employees) performance reviews (with assistance of Manager) for all Courier staff.
- Provides feedback to the manager on work-related issues, including those that might lead to disciplinary actions.
- Makes assignments and distributes workload; manages day-to-day courier workflow reports to Manager regarding work.
- Monitor the day-to-day activities of the Courier staff, which include the transportation of lab specimens, medical records, medications, and patient related documentation within Fred Hutch and campus.
- Actively ensures courier routes are up to date with Manager approval.
- Ensure all courier tracking logs are mainlined and up to date.
- Participates in all other projects assigned by the Manager.
Qualifications
Required:
- High School Degree, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum two years of relevant experience.
- Pharmacy Assistant license (must be able to attain a Pharmacy Assistant License within 45 days of hire).
- Valid Driver's License.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to communicate professionally with all clinic departments.
- Ability to support flexibility in assisting many areas of multifaceted department
- Ability to use effective customer service skills
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in an efficient, accurate and timely manner
- Ability to communicate in person professionally and effectively and in writing.
- Excellent multi-tasking and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of computerized or automated system operations and record keeping practices.
- Basic math skills and knowledge of units of measure.
- Ability to lift to 50 pounds using proper techniques.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to consistently walk for the majority of an eight-hour shift, and/or an average of 10-12 miles per day.
Preferred:
- Knowledge and practice of safe blood borne pathogen handling techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals and carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form.
The hourly pay range for this position is from $24.50 to $34.88 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
