Job Summary**

The Senior Systems Engineer at LPL Financial Corp plays a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust and scalable infrastructure solutions to support the company's financial services operations. This position involves advanced troubleshooting, system optimization, maintenance and collaboration with various teams to ensure high availability and performance of key systems.

Job Responsibilities**

* Manage maintenance activities across complex server infrastructures (Windows and Linux), including virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
* Administer and maintain cloud-based infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure) ensuring security, cost-effectiveness, and optimal performance.
* Develop and implement automation scripts and tools using PowerShell, Python, or similar languages to streamline system administration tasks and improve operational efficiency.
* Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex infrastructure issues, often involving multiple interconnected systems.
* Participate in on-call rotation and provide off-hours support for critical incidents as needed.
* Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures.
* Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the team's knowledge sharing and professional development.

Job Qualifications**

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
* 7+ years of experience in systems engineering or a similar role, with a strong focus on enterprise-level infrastructure.
* Expertise in Windows Server operating systems, Active Directory, Group Policy, and related services.
* Strong experience with virtualization technologies (VMware preferred).
* Proven experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, including infrastructure as code (e.g., CloudFormation, ARM templates).
* Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell, Python, or similar languages.
* Deep experience with Venafi certificate management tooling and processes.

* Proven success in patch management and validation roles.
* Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Relevant industry certifications (e.g., MCSA, MCSE, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator Associate) are a plus.
