Job Description:

A Brief Overview

Assists and learns to maintain grounds (lawns, tress, shrubs, parking lots, side walks, etc.) during summer months. Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment in accordance with, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications, using hand and power tools and precision measuring and testing instruments. Ability to work in various weather conditions and during off hours.

What you will do

  • Operate powered equipment such as lawn mowers, edgers, hedge trimmers, tractors and other gas-powered equipment related to maintaining the lawns, trees and shrubs and landscaped areas.
  • Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, along with hand-held electric power tools.
  • Gather and remove litter.
  • Mix and spray herbicides, or insecticides onto grass, shrubs, and trees, using hand or automatic sprayers or spreaders.

Qualifications:

Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) or enrolled in college (preferred)
  • Experience with the following tools: Lawnmowers, small gas-powered equipment (preferred)
  • Experience with the following technology: Electronic mail software-Outlook Operating System software-Microsoft Windows (preferred)
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
  • Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Talking to others to convey information effectively.
  • Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
  • Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools.
  • Managing one's own time and the time of others.
  • The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
  • The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects.
  • The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs.
  • The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
