Job Description:
At Job Duck, we are seeking a Legal and Administrative Assistant to support our Family Law practice. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a professional environment, enjoys balancing administrative precision with client communication, and takes pride in helping attorneys and paralegals work more efficiently. You will be responsible for drafting legal documents, managing case calendars, coordinating court filings, and maintaining accurate client records. The right candidate will be detail-oriented, resourceful, and collaborative, with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced legal setting while ensuring clients receive timely and professional support.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Enter deadlines into the firm’s master calendar and resolve scheduling conflicts
Coordinate legal server processes for physical court filings
Maintain and upload client files electronically into Clio
Produce weekly and monthly reports as requested by attorneys
Draft legal forms, documents, and correspondence for attorney review
Proofread all drafted materials before submission to paralegals or attorneys
Schedule case events and reminders in Clio
Handle electronic filing with the court and manage related communications
Communicate with clients via email, phone, or in person to obtain documents or relay information
Perform administrative support functions such as copying, scanning, and filing records
Open and close client files, ensuring proper transfer of records and payment verification
Complete miscellaneous tasks assigned by attorneys or paralegals
Requirements:
2+ years of customer-facing experience
Experience working as a Legal Assistant (Family Law knowledge is preferred)
Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree, or relevant certification
• Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM PST (Pacific Standard Time)
• Software/Tools: Clio Grow, Clio Manage, Zoom, GoToMeeting, Adobe Acrobat, Google Suite
