Role Summary:
The Indirect Category Sourcing Specialist supports the development and execution of sourcing strategies for indirect spend categories such as MRO, facilities, IT, professional services, logistics, travel, marketing, and other non-production goods and services. This role works closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to drive cost savings, improve supplier performance, reduce risk, and ensure continuity of supply. The role will be based at the one of the three strategic Flowserve Hubs (Bangalore, Madrid or Torreon).
Your role:
- Support category strategy development for assigned indirect spend areas
- Conduct spend analysis, market research, and supplier assessments
- Lead or support RFx activities, including RFI, RFP, and RFQ processes
- Evaluate supplier proposals using commercial, operational, and risk criteria
- Negotiate pricing, terms, service levels, and contract conditions
- Partner with stakeholders across operations, finance, legal, IT, HR, and other functions to understand business requirements
- Identify and deliver cost savings, cost avoidance, and value improvement opportunities
- Monitor supplier performance through KPIs, scorecards, and business reviews
- Help manage contracts, renewals, and compliance with procurement policies
- Support supplier onboarding, qualification, and issue resolution
- Track sourcing pipeline, savings results, and category performance metrics
- Ensure sourcing activities align with company ethics, sustainability, and risk management requirements
Your profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field
- 3–6 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, supply chain, or category management
- Experience sourcing indirect categories such as services, IT, facilities, MRO, or general corporate spend
- Knowledge of strategic sourcing, supplier management, and contract negotiation
- Strong analytical skills with experience in spend analysis and cost modelling
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proficiency with ERP systems, Excel, and sourcing/procurement tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a global or matrixed organization
- Familiarity with supplier risk management and procurement compliance
- Professional certification such as CPSM, CIPS, or CPM
- Experience with e-sourcing platforms and contract lifecycle tools
- Background in manufacturing or industrial environments
