Are you passionate about supporting youth and helping them succeed academically, socially, and emotionally? Join our team at Adult & Child Health as a School-Based Support Specialist!
 

In this role, you will provide direct support to students during school hours, helping them thrive in the classroom and beyond. You’ll work collaboratively with students, families, and school staff to implement individualized treatment plans, coordinate community-based mental health services, and deliver evidence-based interventions that promote resilience, skill-building, and long-term well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply behavioral science principles to support youth in achieving success at school, home, and in the community.

  • Provide services during school hours directly on school premises, ensuring accessible, student-centered support.

  • Collaborate with students, families, and treatment teams to implement individualized treatment goals.

  • Manage a caseload and participate in client staffing to set treatment objectives and review progress.

  • Facilitate educational and supportive activities that promote recovery, resilience, and well-being.

  • Exercise sound judgment when providing emergency services to students experiencing crises, including safety planning and follow-up support.

  • Conduct outreach and home visits when necessary, including during school breaks, to maintain engagement.

  • Document all client services and progress accurately and in accordance with agency policies.

  • Participate in training, staff development, and quality improvement initiatives.

  • Collaborate with community agencies and school staff to ensure coordinated, comprehensive services.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by program leadership.
     

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or other human services specialized field of study; OR

  • Bachelor’s degree in an unrelated field plus two years of related work experience; OR

  • Any four-year combination of higher education and two years of related work experience; OR

  • Associate’s of Applied Science in Behavioral Health Support; OR

  • Four years of qualifying experience*
     

*Qualifying experience must include delivering services to individuals with mental health disorders, substance use disorders, or developmental disabilities.
 

Additional Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of case management and rehabilitation methods related to mental health and/or substance use disorders.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating as part of a team.

  • Self-motivated, reliable, and flexible in adapting to student and program needs.

  • Able to establish effective relationships with students, families, and community partners.
