Job Summary:

As a Group Facilitator, you will prepare and present educational content, promote discussions that foster learning, and uphold our commitment to a culture of respect and sensitivity. Your role is critical in enhancing client engagement and ensuring the successful operation of our recovery programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and present educational materials that encourage active client participation.
  • Create and maintain a safe, supportive, and culturally sensitive environment for learning and discussion.
  • Evaluate client participation during group sessions and communicate feedback to team members.
  • Document client attendance and summarize participation and outcomes for each group facilitated.
  • Utilize agency-approved formats to maintain timely and accurate documentation of services in the Electronic Health Records (EHR) system.
  •  Report potential threats to client or staff wellbeing promptly to supervisors.
  •  Commit to regular and consistent attendance as an essential job function.
  • Perform other assigned duties as necessary.

Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:

  •  Bachelor’s Degree in social work, counseling, psychology, psychiatric nursing, or a closely related field;OR
  •  High School or General Equivalency Diploma with two (2) years of responsible employment history.
  •  Employees in this position may be required to apply for Missouri Associate Alcohol Drug Counselor (MAADC) credential.

  •  Demonstrated effective communication skills in group and public settings are essential.
  •   Ability to facilitate educational groups for adults, promoting positive morale and supportive attitudes.
  •  Must demonstrate initiative, innovation, and creativity leading to improved clinical outcomes.
  •   Ability to exhibit concern for the needs of clients and staff, enhancing the organization’s image.

Physical Requirements:

  •  Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (exists 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, or pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
  •  Involves sitting most of the time but may require walking or standing for brief periods.
