Job Title: Veterinary Surgeon

Hours: Full-time | 42 hours per week | 4-day week | 1 in 4 weekends with structured time back in lieu

Salary: £45,000–£60,000 (depending on experience)

The team and practice

Village Vet Milton is a busy, progressive primary care hospital that combines the pace and complexity of hospital work with the continuity and accessibility of first opinion practice.

This is a genuinely dynamic clinical environment where intensive cases are frequently managed in-house, and where the team works collaboratively to deliver an exceptionally high standard of patient care under one roof.

The hospital has a dedicated OOH service through vet24, allowing for true continuity of care and giving vets the opportunity to follow cases throughout their full patient journey — something increasingly rare within primary care settings.

Clinically, the hospital is exceptionally well equipped and supported by a highly experienced team, including certificate holders in ECC and medicine, alongside vets currently working towards further qualifications in surgery and cardiology.

What we’re looking for

• RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon
• Ideally 2+ years’ UK small animal experience
• Confident with routine consults and surgery
• Keen to develop within a busy hospital environment
• Comfortable managing a varied and fast-paced caseload
• Someone who enjoys collaboration and shared clinical discussion
• Interest in ECC, medicine or advanced primary care desirable
• A proactive, positive and team-oriented approach
• Keen to continue learning and developing clinically
