POSITION: Mechanic A Service

NUMBER OF POSITIONS: 1

LOCATION: SCG CT - Orange - 60 Marsh Hill Rd

STARTING WAGE: $46.71 - $51.26

Job Summary

Primary responsibility for performing one-person repair and piping jobs.  May be required to perform two-person fitter jobs with a Helper. One-person jobs will never exceed 2” diameter nipples and /or an AL630 meter set. May be assigned service work normally performed by a Service Technician “A”.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performs or assists as necessary in installing, changing, relocating, and removing meters, repairing and removing piping meter connections and service regulators.
  • When required, performs the duties of a Service Technician “A on the day shift.
  • Responsible for oiling meters upon installation or replacement, and rotating meter index as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have qualified as Service Technician “A”.
  • Must maintain an acceptable personal appearance and acceptable job knowledge.
  • Must display knowledge of safety procedures and rules of the Company.
  • Must have the ability to make written, legible and accurate reports of all services performed on the customer’s premises.
  • This position is a DOT Safety Sensitive position which requires applicant to comply with all drug and alcohol regulations. Respiratory Fit Test may be required.
  • Must possess current OQ qualifications for Fitter A
