Overview
The Content Strategy Analyst II is responsible for developing, organizing, and optimizing technical and instructional content that supports digital experiences, product education, knowledge management, and operational effectiveness across Mastercard’s technology ecosystem.
This role combines content strategy, technical communication, information architecture, and content governance to ensure content is clear, scalable, user-focused, and aligned with business and customer needs. The ideal candidate is experienced in translating complex technical information into intuitive, user-friendly content while partnering cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, UX, Technology, and Business stakeholders.
Role Responsibilities
•Develop, edit, and maintain high-quality technical and instructional content including knowledge articles, help documentation, user guides, presentations, process documentation, and digital learning materials
•Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-focused content for both technical and non-technical audiences
•Collaborate with Product, Engineering, UX, and business teams to gather requirements, validate information, and ensure content accuracy and alignment
•Support content strategy initiatives focused on improving usability, consistency, accessibility, scalability, and overall user experience
•Organize and structure content using enterprise content management systems and structured authoring methodologies such as DITA and XML
•Leverage APIs, content technologies, and documentation frameworks to support reusable and maintainable content solutions
•Analyze content effectiveness and identify opportunities for optimization through data insights, stakeholder feedback, and user needs
•Maintain content governance standards including taxonomy, metadata, style guidelines, and information architecture best practices
•Support content lifecycle management activities including version control, content reviews, updates, and archival processes
•Lead or support cross-functional content initiatives while independently managing priorities, timelines, and deliverables
•Contribute to process improvement efforts that enhance content operations, documentation workflows, and knowledge-sharing practices
•May provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members on documentation standards, tools, and best practices
Required Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Technical Writing, English, Instructional Design, Information Design, UX Writing, Journalism, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
•2–5+ years of experience in content strategy, technical writing, content management, knowledge management, or related field
•Experience creating technical, instructional, or user-focused content within a digital, software, or technology environment
•Strong written, editing, and verbal communication skills
•Experience working cross-functionally with technical and non-technical stakeholders
•Ability to simplify complex concepts into intuitive and user-friendly content
•Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
•Experience with structured authoring frameworks such as DITA
•Familiarity with XML, API documentation, and enterprise content management systems
•Knowledge of information architecture, taxonomy, content governance, or UX writing principles
•Experience supporting enterprise software, digital products, or technology organizations
•Familiarity with accessibility, usability, and content optimization best practices

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Mastercard benefits for full time (and certain part time) employees generally include: insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance); flexible spending account and health savings account; paid leaves (including 16 weeks of new parent leave and up to 20 days of bereavement leave); 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time, 25 days of vacation time and 5 personal days, pro-rated based on date of hire; 10 annual paid U.S. observed holidays; 401k with a best-in-class company match; deferred compensation for eligible roles; fitness reimbursement or on-site fitness facilities; eligibility for tuition reimbursement; and many more. O'Fallon, Missouri: $76,000 - $127,000 USD
