Job Summary:
We are looking for enthusiastic and energetic individuals to join our team as Winter Fun Workers! In this seasonal role, you will be responsible for organizing and facilitating recreational activities and events that bring joy and excitement to participants. While working, you'll help create a fun, safe, and engaging environment that fosters positive experiences for everyone involved.
Examples of Duties:
SUMMER FUN POSITIONS
Program Leaders- Demonstrates quality leadership by stimulating interest in the recreation aides and participants. Ability to work well with children (including children with special needs). Implements lesson plans and curriculum for recreational activities including games; sports activities; arts and crafts; music and dance. Functions as the primary source of communication to the parents. Prepares daily reports; attendance logs, incident reports, & other necessary documents as required by standard operations and procedures of the program.
Training & Experience: Experience in County’s Summer Enrichment Program or child-care services.
Recreation Aide - Ability to work well with children (including children with special needs). Monitors specific group of children between the ages of 5 and 11. Assists Program Leaders with organized games, music, and crafts. Hand out, collects, cleans and sanitizes equipment and supplies. Cleans and sanitizes table-tops and chairs. Performs other related duties as required.
Training & Experience: High school student, graduate, or former Jr. Leader that is 16 years of age or older by program start date.
ADA Recreation Aide - Must be able to meet all of the duties of a Recreation Aide. Must work well with children that are in need of special program accommodation and who may require one-on-one supervision. Encourages the integration of children with special accommodations into daily activities while still promoting and meeting the child’s independent needs. Must be creative and resourceful when planning and implementing age appropriate indoor & outdoor activities.
Training & Experience: Experience with special needs children/adults highly preferred. Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma, one or more years of college preferred.
Minimum Qualifications:
WINTER FUN REQUIREMENT
To qualify for the County of Kauai Winter Fun Program, you MUST be 16 years or older and be available for the duration of the program.
WINTER FUN PROGRAM
Those selected for hire will begin employment processing November 24, 2025.
Employment dates are December 22, 2025 to January 5, 2026.
Work Hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Program Leaders ($20.00/hour)
- ADA Recreation Aide ($20.00/hour)
- Recreation Aide ($16.00/hour)
Winter Fun worksites are: Anahola Clubhouse, Lihu‘e Neighborhood Center, Kekaha Neighborhood Center, and Kalaheo Neighborhood Center.
