Classification Title: Temporary Position

DESCRIPTION

Under the supervision of the Athletics and Activities Manager and building administration, the Interscholastic Athletics Coach organizes and administers the team which he/she coaches. Coaches are hired per BOE Policy 7120 COACHES AND ADVISORS OF HIGH SCHOOL EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES.

  • Coaches are hired by recommendations only. If you are selected for the position, your names will be sent to HCPSS Office of Recruitment and Hiring. You will be contacted by the Human Resources office via email from the application system.

  • If you are interested in any of these positions, please contact the AAM (Athletics & Activities Manager) for an interview. If you are selected for the position, your names will be sent to HCPSS Office of Recruitment and Hiring.

  • Coaches are hired seasonally and are considered temporary employees. Coaches receive no benefits.

  • Coaching positions may be paid or volunteer. Paid coaches receive a stipend at the end of the season.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must meet all qualifications below to be considered for the vacancy.

  • Must be 21 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.

The applicant must be eligible to work in the United States. Employment applications are accepted online only. A completed application must include the following

  • All employment and volunteer history for the past 10 years with no gaps are recommended
  • An official proof of education (A copy of official HS Transcript/HS Diploma/ a copy of official college Transcript)
  • Foreign Education must have an education evaluation by one of the agencies approved by Maryland State Dept. of Education (MSDE).

Pre-Employment Requirements

Professional references will be contacted prior to any offer of employment. Recommended candidates will be required to provide references from current and recent supervisors.

All employees, regular and temporary, must be fingerprinted, have a criminal background investigation completed, and successfully complete the Maryland Employment History Review, pursuant to Section 6-113.2 of the Education Article, Annotated Code of Maryland. In addition, some positions will require completion of a physical examination and/or drug testing.
