Chevron’s Supply and Trading (S&T) organization serves as the commercial engine connecting Upstream, Downstream, Midstream, and Chemicals operations to global markets. Leveraging deep expertise in commodity markets, logistics, and the full commodity-to-customer value chain, S&T drives commercial excellence and maximizes enterprise value. This specific role supports Products Supply and Trading (PSAT), which is responsible for buying, selling, and supplying refinery feedstocks, marketing refined bio and fossil products, managing carbon compliance credits, and exporting natural gas liquids to support Chevron’s production, aviation, bunkering, and refining operations. Through integrated capabilities and strategic market engagement, PSAT captures opportunities across the value chain to enable business success.
As part of the Business Performance & Finance (BPF) team, the Financial Analyst plays a critical role in supporting commercial and financial transactions, forecasting and planning, and performance benchmarking. This role acts as the Global Coordinator across all PSAT Global Books and Commodities, working across four regions and the front, mid, and back office to prepare monthly performance reporting and data driven insights for senior management.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Partner closely with traders, global finance team members, remote service centers and other trading stakeholders to summarize monthly financial outcomes and clearly articulate historical, current, and forecasted earnings and cash flow performance.
Serve as a key liaison between Corporate Finance and PSAT, translating between Mark to Market Trading performance results and US GAAP corporate earnings impacts to align functional and trading leadership.
Leverage systems (SRA, SAP) and manipulate data to proactively identify value capture and working capital optimization opportunities to drive competitive performance.
Support deal structuring and evaluation by providing historical financial insights, testing model assumptions and conduct lookbacks to optimize commercial decisions and ensure alignment with strategic goals.
Demonstrated project management experience leading cross-functional initiatives from scope and schedule development through execution, risk mitigation, and on-time delivery of measurable outcomes.
Required Qualifications:
5 years of experience consolidating and reporting on Trading, Midstream, or Downstream (Fuels, Manufacturing, Chemicals, Retail) financial results
10 years of experience in FR&A, planning or similar field
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Initiative, intellectual curiosity, ability to drive operational results
Preferred Qualifications:
Proven financial and accounting acumen, with attention to detail and the ability to translate GAAP results into mark-to-market trader performance
Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate and simplify complex financial data into actionable insights for senior leadership and cross-functional teams
Demonstrated influential leadership or team lead experience, guiding cross-functional stakeholders through collaboration, prioritization, and decision-making to deliver shared outcomes.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently, proactively and collaboratively across global teams
Intellectual curiosity and demonstrated ability to conduct independent research and leverage existing resources to drive proactive understanding and knowledge building
Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI), financial systems such as SAP, and trading systems such as SRA or Endur
MBA and/or CPA designation
