Graduate Assistant - Summer Bridge Program

Job Description:

The Mount 101: Summer Bridge Program seeks an organized, engaging, and patient 12-month graduate assistant to assist the director in the year-round planning, marketing, administration, and administration of one of the University’s premier summer programs for first year students. This GA will serve as the Mount 101 coordinator, with shared supervisory responsibilities of a student staff of ten. The program typically runs the first two weeks of July, and the successful candidate would have daytime and evening availability during the run of the program itself, and some daytime availably for all summer orientation dates and spring admissions events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Primary contact for reservation and queries regarding the program
  • Creation and distribution of marketing material for the program
  • Program promotion during admissions events
  • Coordination with other campus offices to ensure a quality experience for participants
  • Assist in creating program curriculum and itinerary for off campus trips
  • Organize and supervise activities for students during the program
  • Conduct post program surveys and data collection
  • Assist in recruiting, assessing, and mentoring student staff
  • Available to mentor first year student throughout the fall semester

Job Requirements: Education, Experience and Skills:

  • Must be accepted into a graduate program at Mount St. Mary’s University.
  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Salary/Hours/Benefits

  • A stipend of $6000 per academic year.
  • 15 hours per week for 12 months (July-June) months
  • Tuition Remission Benefits (2 courses in the fall and 2 courses in the spring).
