Graduate Assistant - Center for Instructional Design & Delivery (CIDD)

Job Description:

The Graduate Assistant for the Center for Instructional Design and Delivery (CIDD) will support instructional technology efforts and daily office operations. This includes but is not limited to training in Canvas, the Express Studio (recording studio), as well as with additional instructional technologies.

Expected outcomes

CIDD has been charged with leading instructional technology efforts to enhance faculty knowledge and use of Canvas to support instruction across learning modalities. Additionally, CIDD strives to support student success through direct assistance with Canvas as well as additional collaborative, instructional design projects with offices and departments across the university.

Hardware and Software Skills

Canvas

  • Support the adoption of Canvas by working with the instructional technologist to build training materials and courses.

Classroom Instructional Technology

  • Collaborate with the instructional technologist to design and deliver training sessions for upgraded classroom technology.

Individualized Support

  • Arrange individual support sessions to facilitate faculty development with Canvas, Express Studio, and other applications.

General Office Support

  • Familiarity with basic design tools such as Canva to develop marketing resources and flyers.

Skills Development

Those entering virtually any profession must be proficient in learning and/or maintaining data management systems. This includes being disposed to learn and relearn new systems, programs and applications as professions integrate 21st century solutions. Key to learning and leading these new technologies is understanding of how to facilitate the integration of upgraded solutions and to be effective in communicating adoption and adaptation to others. The graduate assistant for CIDD will be afforded the opportunity to hone these critical skills as he/she supports the instructional technology efforts across the university.

Salary/Hours/Benefits

A stipend of $6000 per academic year.

20 hours per week for 9 months (August – May)

Tuition Remission Benefits (2 courses in the fall and 2 courses in the spring).
