Graduate Assistant - Center for Leadership and Community Connection

Job Description:

The Graduate Assistant (GA) position will assist the Center for Leadership & Community Connection (CLCC) office in providing clerical, marketing, graphic/design content creation, social media, and administrative support. The position will aid in the fulfillment of the mission of the University and the department to provide a safe, welcoming, inclusive, and comfortable environment by striving to model Catholic virtues and building a community of respect, honesty, integrity, love, and compassion toward Mount students and the community. This position also works supporting the development, programming, and success of cultural clubs and student-led organizations that bridge community and campus partnerships.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create, manage, and coordinate marketing materials, including flyers, digital sign age, social media content, and other means to promote programs.
  • Assist with the general promotion of events, programs, services, and opportunities. Attend occasional events for marketing or recruitment purposes.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements: Education, Experience and Skills:

  • Serve as a role model, resource person, and referral agent to all students who visit and interact with the CLCC office.
  • Develop positive relationships with students and student leaders.
  • Be an active and present leader within the CLCC office.
  • Participate and assist in the facilitation of events held by the Center for Leadership & Community Connection during Welcome Week, and others as assigned.
  • Assist with the End of Year Student Life awards.
  • Serve in the role of Advisor for the Cultural Committee

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to multitask. Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Solid organization and planning skills.
  • Computer skills include proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and Canva.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and trends including but not limited to, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. Ability and willingness to work collaboratively and independently.

Salary/Hours/Benefits

  • A stipend of $6000 per academic year.
  • 20 hours per week for 9 months (August - May)
  • Tuition Remission Benefits (2 courses in the fall and 2 courses in the spring).
