Graduate Assistant - Admissions

Job Description:

The Graduate Assistant (GA) for Admissions assists the office with all important recruitment functions across three core functions: events, recruitment, and operations. These tasks include reviewing and processing admission applications, meeting with prospective students and families during small and large-scale recruitment events, traveling to high schools and college fairs, and assisting with social media and routine data management. The position requires some evening and weekend hours and reports to the Director of Admissions for Events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Events

  • Assist with on campus visit programs, including individual discussions, presentations, and tours.
  • Greet visitors to the admissions office and answer phone calls.

Recruitment

  • Review and evaluate admissions applications.
  • Represent the Mount at regional high schools and college fairs when available/needed.

Operations

  • Assist with email and text marketing campaigns.
  • Assist with managing social media accounts, including creating content and managing posts.
  • Maintain timely and accurate interactions on student records.
  • Assist with routine data management.

Job Requirements: Education, Experience and Skills:

  • Must be accepted into a graduate program at Mount St. Mary’s University.
  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Salary/Hours/Benefits

  • A stipend of $6000 per academic year.
  • 20 hours per week for 9 months (August - May)
  • Tuition Remission Benefits (2 courses in the fall and 2 courses in the spring).
