DESCRIPTION

The Print Services Equipment Operator is responsible for the daily operation of printing, copying, binding, and finishing equipment to support the instructional and administrative needs of the school district. This role ensures high-quality and timely production of printed materials while maintaining equipment and supplies in a safe and efficient environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must meet all the qualifications below to be considered for the vacancy.

Education: 

High school diploma or equivalent required

Experience

0–2 years of printing equipment operator of graphic design experience preferred.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written & verbal)

  • High attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe, Web-to-Print Software

  • Ability to multitask and handle a fast-paced work environment

ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

The list below is a summary of the functions of the job, not an exhaustive or comprehensive list of all possible job responsibilities, tasks, and duties.

  • Operate Production Copying and Finishing Equipment - 75%

  • Operate digital printing equipment to produce various materials (e.g., handouts, newsletters, tests, booklets)

  • Review print requests for accuracy, clarity, and feasibility, contacting requestors when necessary for clarification.

  • Use finishing equipment such as cutters, folders, collators, staplers and binding machines.

  • Packaging and Shipping - 25%

  • Package and label completed requests for delivery

  • Keep accurate records of jobs completed, materials used, and time spent for reporting and billing purposes.

  • ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • Working Hours - Hours may vary

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds

  • An official proof of education (A copy of official HS Transcript/HS Diploma/ a copy of official college Transcript)

  • Foreign Education: An education evaluation by one of the agencies approved by Maryland State Dept. of Education (MSDE).

  • All employment and volunteer history from the past 10 years with no gaps including employment dates, position held, and name of the supervisor. 

  • Interviews will be limited to those applicants who, in addition to meeting the basic requirements, have experience and education which most closely match the position qualifications and the needs of the school system.

Compensation

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

$16-$27/hour

Professional references will be contacted prior to any offer of employment. Recommended candidates will be required to provide references from current and recent supervisors.

All employees, regular and temporary, must be fingerprinted, have a criminal background investigation completed, and successfully complete the Maryland Employment History Review, pursuant to Section 6-113.2 of the Education Article, Annotated Code of Maryland. In addition, some positions will require completion of a physical examination and/or drug testing.
