• Develop and maintain equitable labor standards for costing, processing payroll and job evaluation in assigned areas using appropriate and acceptable engineering practices including performing time and motion studies and documenting results
• Research and conduct cost-benefit and data analysis to support continuous improvement projects through the stages of ideation, prioritization, and execution
• Serves as the labor system leader - plans, organizes, communicates and manages the labor system implementation for the distribution network
• Identify and report out on labor KPI metrics to achieve labor goals
• Recommends methods for improving worker efficiency, quality and safety and reducing shipping material waste
• Supports evaluation of mechanical and technology equipment for distribution process improvement
• Lead and participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing improvement teams as assigned
• Assists with the training of Supervisors and employees on the proper use of methods (utilizing the proper tools, proper ergonomic motions etc.) and incentive system principles, to promote corporate goals by teaching efficient processes
• Follows Company policies and practices while representing Driscoll’s in an ethical and business-like manner in all business-related interactions.
• Ensure the security of Driscoll’s confidential and proprietary information and materials
• Other duties as assigned
• Bachelor’s degree required in Industrial Engineering. MBA preferred
• 5+ years’ experience in distribution, especially in an agriculture or cold-chain related industry
• Strong knowledge of time and motion studies, labor standards development, and performance benchmarking
• Technical training / proficiency in labor management systems (e.g., Blue Yonder, Red Prairie, Kronos, SAP, Manhattan)
• Six sigma or other quality management certification
• Must possess strong organizational, project management and people leadership skills
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to perform optimization analysis and business case development
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required
• Must be a self-starter with strong multi-tasking skills
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, showing initiative as an independent worker and team leader
• Must be able to build constructive and effective relationships
• Must be flexible and dependable with work schedule, including on-call shifts (nights and weekends), holidays & overtime
• Travel required (approximately 20-30%), domestic and international
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook required
• California driver’s license and the ability to be covered under company-sponsored vehicle insurance program are required
• A valid passport and the ability to travel internationally without restrictions is required
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) fluency preferred
Compensation & Benefits:
The following information is provided in good faith as a general description of the salary range and benefits for the position posted. The actual compensation offered to the successful candidate is dependent upon experience, skills, education, work location, internal pay equity, and other objective job-related factors.
Salary Range estimated for the Industrial Engineer: $100,000.00 to $125,000.00 USD.
