Job Summary:

The Office of Capital Projects and Planning has a number of exciting planning, design and construction projects planned for the summer of 2026, and is actively seeking one to two interns for our Waterville campus. The projects vary in size and complexity and include active construction projects such as the new Residence Hall and a campus core landscaping project, as well as projects currently being designed such as the new Science Complex.

Duties for these positions may include, but are not limited to the following:

Project management assistance, including:

a.       Documentation of existing or observed conditions

b.       Schedule development and review of the construction manager and design schedules

c.        Financial tracking and assistance with the owner’s project budgets

d.       Scope reviews of drawings, specifications, and other project documents

e.       Assistance with the owner’s testing and evaluations, including coordinating outside contractors

·       Assistance with meeting minutes, project research, planning studies, clerical duties, and filing needs

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Self-motivated and dependable
• Willingness to learn and work collaboratively
• Ability to work independently and keep information confidential

KEY RELATIONSHIPS:
This position has significant interaction with staff, faculty, and others in the Colby community.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
General open office and campus environment. Position involves sitting, although frequent movement is necessary. Occasional lifting is required. Computer usage involving repetitive hand/wrist motion is also necessary.
