Repairs and maintains the healthcare system's facilities, systems, and equipment.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Receive and complete work order requests for facilities maintenance. Ensures work is performed in a timely manner and triage requests to prioritize the most critical repairs.
  • Inspect and perform preventative maintenance or as-needed repairs on facilities or systems, which may include mechanical or electrical systems, HVAC or other environmental management systems, generators or power management systems, or fire or safety systems.
  • Make basic repairs and coordinate the work of specialists when more complex repairs are needed.
  • Schedule maintenance or repairs to minimize disruptions to organizational operations wherever possible.
  • Provide assistance in responding to fire alarms and other codes.
  • Act in accordance with the established mission, vision, and values.
  • Abide by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability privacy and security regulations regarding all aspects of Protected Health Information (PHI).
  • Maintain effective communication and professional working relationships with patients/clients and their representatives, team members, contractors, physicians, peers, outside agencies, and the public.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience

  • none

Required License/Certifications/Registrations

  • Kansas Driver’s License (if position requires driving)
  • Auto Insurance equal to or greater than the Kansas Insurance requirements (if position requires driving)

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Previous experience in a similar environment.

Preferred License/Certifications/Registrations

  • Completion of an approved apprenticeship program
  • Journeyman licensure

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Physical Stamina.
  • Self-direction and the ability to follow directions.
  • Ability to lift/move heavy objects.

  • Heavy Work: Occasionally exerting up to 100 lbs - constantly exerting up to 20 lbs. 51-75% of the day may be standing or walking.
