Position Overview

The Device Engineer is a highly skilled technical professional responsible for advanced device management and engineering across Windows, macOS, and mobile platforms. This role combines hands-on administration with strategic engineering to ensure secure, efficient, and reliable device operations in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in MDM platforms, scripting, and enterprise-level configurations, while demonstrating flexibility for on-call and event support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Device Management & Engineering
    • Administer and engineer solutions for Windows and Apple computers, iOS, and Android devices.
    • Manage and optimize JAMF and Microsoft Intune environments for endpoint compliance and security.
  • Enterprise Administration
    • Perform Microsoft 365 administration, including device policies and user configurations.
    • Configure and maintain Group Policy Objects (GPOs) and Active Directory settings.
  • Automation & Optimization
    • Develop and maintain scripts (PowerShell, Bash, etc.) to automate processes and improve efficiency.
  • Support & Escalation
    • Serve as an escalation point for complex device issues across IT teams.
    • Provide Tier 3 support and collaborate on troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Project & Event Support
    • Lead or contribute to device-related projects and special initiatives.
    • Support enterprise events, including occasional weekend or off-site work.
  • Compliance & Security
    • Ensure adherence to CIS benchmarks and enterprise security standards.
    • Participate in vulnerability remediation and patch management processes.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience with Windows and macOS administration.
  • Hands-on expertise with JAMF, Intune, and general MDM solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 ecosystem and device policy management.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, or similar).
  • Familiarity with GPOs, Active Directory, and enterprise security practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changing priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to be on-call and work weekends or at other sites for special events.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with enterprise-level device lifecycle management.
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes and change management.
  • Familiarity with identity management and endpoint security frameworks.
