Kids Program Assistant

This position will work directly with the Kids Program Supervisor to provide our younger guests with the vacation experience of a lifetime. You will assist in creating an inviting environment and engaging programming each week for the children onsite. You will assist in the oversight of Guest Services staff on shift, communicate with parents, help serve buffet-style dinners to our younger guests, coordinate "meal ride" transportation, and clean and inventory of Bear Town. Must be available to work a minimum of our 3-month summer season.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Build strong, welcoming relationships with guest parents and children to ensure an exceptional experience.
  • Help plan, organize, and oversee daily activities for morning, afternoon, and evening kids’ programs.
  • Help lead, coach, and support children’s program counselors to deliver engaging, high-quality programming.
  • Foster creativity by developing new ideas, themes, and learning opportunities for kids.
  • Monitor and manage child safety, including allergies, health concerns, and general well-being.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and inviting Bear Town environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience working with children (ages 2-12) in a supervisory or program-lead role.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with both adults and children.
  • Ability to plan and facilitate structured and unstructured activities.
  • Knowledge of child safety practices, including health and allergy awareness.
  • Ability to lead a team and provide constructive guidance to staff.
  • Must be 18+ with a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be available to work all of Summer Family Season (beginning of June through end of August).

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Background in education, recreation, outdoor programs, or child development.
  • Prior experience in hospitality or guest-facing family programs.
  • Creative program planning skills and comfort designing new activities.
  • CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
