The role will focus on enhancing and extending features within a React + Node.js application, using TypeScript and the Next.js framework.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
Working with existing React/Node.js/Next.js (TypeScript) code to add new features and improve user experience.
Knowledge of HTML and CSS Frameworks like Tailwind or similar.
Familiarity with REST APIs and NoSQL data stores (Azure Cosmos DB) to support application features.
Using GitHub for version control and VS Code as the primary development environment.
Leveraging AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to accelerate development, or demonstrating a willingness to learn them.
Being proactive in suggesting new ideas and approaches as the project evolves.
Collaborating with project stakeholders to brainstorm improvements and test new concepts.
The student will be expected to work 15–20 hours per week. Hours should mainly be between 8 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday to Friday, with the option for some remote/off-hours work. Hours are flexible and can be arranged around class schedules. The position will begin in September of the fall semester and continue through the end of the semester, with an option for renewal in the spring semester.
Students must be motivated, punctual, and curious about applying front-end skills to AI-driven projects. Prior experience with the listed technologies is strongly preferred, but a demonstrated ability to learn quickly is equally valued. Students will be expected to adhere to the agreed-upon work schedule and follow all stated policies. The dress code for students is business casual.
