Preservation Services is seeking a responsible, detail-oriented student assistant to help the University of Virginia Library care for its circulating collection. This position plays an important role in ensuring that UVA students and faculty have reliable access to the books and materials that support research, teaching, and scholarship.
The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on work, pays close attention to detail, and can solve problems independently. Student assistants will receive training in the use of specialized tools, equipment, and preservation techniques. Applicants should be open to learning new skills and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities include:
Student assistants will receive training in all tasks and in the safe and effective use of Preservation Services tools and equipment.
