Job Description:

BW Papersystems is looking to fill an entry-level fabricator role designed for individuals with little to no work experience in the field. Candidates typically hold a high school diploma or equivalent. The position involves learning and performing basic fabrication, welding, and assembly tasks under close supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret basic blueprints and instructions
• Set up and operate welding and cutting equipment (metal arc, shielded arc, oxyacetylene)
• Perform basic saw operations and painting
• Measure and calculate dimensions using tools like micrometers and calipers
• Inspect work for defects and ensure it meets specifications
• Report material defects or unusual conditions
• Document work to meet quality and production standards
• Participate in team meetings to help resolve quality or production issues
• Maintain safety standards and keep the workspace clean
• 2nd Shift Monday – Thursday (10 hour shift)

Skills & Competencies:

• Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of fabrication processes
• Ability to follow safety procedures and work instructions
• Familiarity with precision measuring tools
• Basic math and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to learn and take direction from senior staff

Education and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Industrial welding or related experience – good to have, but not required
