Job Description:
BW Converting is looking for an action-oriented, experienced, hands-on Project Controller to join our Green Bay team. The Project Controller is a critical component of the successful project execution equation, responsible for monitoring and managing financials, schedule, and performance for the portfolio of projects under his/her responsibility. Reporting to the Senior Finance Director for Global Operations, the Project Controller will serve as the financial gatekeeper for project revenues, costs, and margins, and will provide Finance support, oversight, and analysis to the Project Execution team, unlocking performance improvement opportunities while ensuring compliance with internal policies and U.S. GAAP.
Essential Functions
- Partner with Project Managers and liaise with supporting functions (Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, et al.) to ensure optimal performance on Hygiene project portfolio
- Support Hygiene Director of Project Execution in project analysis, reporting, and reviews
- Participate in project kickoff / situation zero reconciliation process and execute project set ups for all new projects
- Facilitate progress tracking to accurately assess and report project progress, estimates to complete, and estimates at complete
- Assist Project Managers in the identification of necessary changes relative to scope, schedule, and forecast, and proactively work to identify and support mitigation and recovery plans, as needed
- Manage vendor / contractor compliance with contractual terms and conditions
- Draft standard playbook for BWC project controlling, inclusive of business model definition; scheduled contacts with Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, Field Service; margin and provision recognition decision protocols; intercompany transfer pricing rules; et al.
- Monthly, quarterly, and annual project reporting
- Maintain monthly project forecasts, inclusive of revenue, cost, and cash
- Execute monthly closing functions, inclusive of revenue and margin recognition, cost triangle variance analysis
- Work to improve financial processes and communication across the company
- Participate in external audits and implement any corrective findings
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
- 7+ years of finance or accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
- A strong bias for action and drive for results
- Understanding of manufacturing and supply chain operations as well as lean principles
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail and organization. Ability to flex appropriately between details and summaries depending on the audience.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and meet tight deadlines.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Proficient in accounting practices, standards, and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). In-depth knowledge of accounting principles applications and best practices.
