Position Title: Asset Technician
Position Reports To: Asset Specialist
Position Summary
The Asset Technician role involves organizing, stacking, inventorying, and reworking a variety of materials, including insulation, coatings, consumables, and scaffold components. This position will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a willingness to work in a physically demanding, team-oriented environment.
Essential Functions
Loads, unloads, sorts, and organizes materials, including insulation products, industrial coatings, consumables, and scaffold components.
Inspects scaffold materials for damage, rust, or defects; cleans and reworks as needed to meet safety and quality standards.
Organizes inventory in designated yard areas to ensure accessibility and accurate counts.
Assists with the preparation and staging of scaffold materials for job site delivery.
Stacks and stores materials safely to maintain accessibility and inventory accuracy.
Reworks, cleans, and stacks scaffold materials to meet quality and readiness standards.
Prepares materials and equipment for job sites based on supervisor direction.
Installs inventory devices; labels and tracks materials for inventory control and job site distribution.
Operates forklifts, pallet jacks, and other yard equipment safely (if certified). Identifies and reports damaged or missing materials; supports restocking as needed.
Maintains a clean, organized, and hazard-free yard and storage area. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
Previous experience in a yard, warehouse, or construction setting is a plus.
Forklift certification is preferred; training is available if not already certified.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to lift and move up to 75 lbs. and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
Basic knowledge of material handling and safety procedures.
Familiarity with soft craft materials (e.g., insulation, coatings, scaffold systems) is a plus.
Promotes safety in all aspects of the role.
Diligent attention to detail.
Ability to multi-task and manage overlapping priorities.
Ability to respond effectively under pressure and tight deadlines.
Self-motivated and able to follow instructions.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Work Conditions/Physical Demands
Primarily based in an outdoor yard environment.
Regular exposure to weather conditions, heavy equipment, and construction-related materials.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in operational areas.
