The Division of General Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is seeking a full-time research faculty member for our Brookline, MA location. The candidate will be appointed to the full-time faculty of Harvard Medical School at an academic rank commensurate with experience.

Job Requirements

  • MD and/or PhD
  •  General medicine research interests including primary care, hospital medicine, and palliative care
  • Excellent analytical and methodological skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

The Division of General Medicine’s research activities cluster around six programs: aging, cardiovascular health, integrative whole health/mind-body medicine, medical transparency, shared decision-making, and placebo studies. Eighteen M.D. and Ph.D. investigators conduct research, seek external funding, and provide mentoring within Harvard’s general medicine and integrative medicine fellowships. M.D.s practice in BIDMC’s faculty inpatient and outpatient settings in Boston, MA. The Section for Research takes particular pride in our mentoring of junior faculty members; most senior faculty are recipients of individual awards for excellence in mentoring, and our Section has been recognized with Harvard Medical School’s Program Award for a Culture of Excellence in Mentoring.

Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center consistently ranks as a national leader among independent hospitals in National Institutes of Health funding. With research funding totaling over $250 million, annually, BIDMC’s 2000+ researchers and staff run more than 2500 active clinical research studies in 52 areas of research.
