Role Summary

The Alternatives Client Solution Lead will collaborate across 50 South Capital, the Global Institutional Client Group and OCIO to ensure we are meeting Institutional and Global Family Office client needs within the Alternatives asset class. This role partners closely with sales, product, operation, relationship management and investment teams to position, service and implement bespoke custom alternative mandates across private equity, private credit, real assets, hedge funds and other alternative investment structures.

The individual serves as a strategic advisor during the sales process and throughout the client lifecycle, ensuring solutions align with client operating models, reporting needs, regulatory requirements and growth objectives.

This partner will be a liaison across internal groups and facilitate information sharing, themes and trends and overall client feedback.

Necessary Knowledge and Skills

  • Deep subject matter expertise across OCIO, Investment Advisory, Institutional Client Group, alternative investment strategies, and NTAM investment solutions.

  • Ability to understand internal processes, governance requirements, seek to find ways to improve operational challenges.

  • Both strategic and execution-oriented mindset; ability to both lead and do;

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills: personable, easy to work with, and engaging to clients and prospects, internal and external;

  • Robust communication and presentation skills; ability to translate complex and/or technical concepts in an understandable manner to a range of audiences;

  • Exceptional collaborator and team-minded professional; driven by integrity and excellence;

  • Excellent project and process management skills;

  • Proven ability to effectively lead and/or navigate through complexity and drive innovation.

Necessary Experience and Education

  • 10+ years experience at an asset management firm;

  • Technical understanding of discretionary and advisory investment relationships, family office structures, institutional investment solutions, Private Equity, Venture Capital, Credit and Hedge Fund strategies and structures;

  • Well-networked in the industry;

  • FINRA Series 7 and 63 required prior to joining or must be obtained within 60 days of hire.

Salary Range:

$164,600 - 288,000 USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
