The Medicine Department at HMFP @ BIDMC is seeking a Gerontologist for a full-time faculty position for our Boston location.  

This role will be 80% clinical and 20% research as outlined below:

Clinical

  • 2 clinics (each 4hrs in length) per week at BIDMC Boston

  • Outpatient care provided at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute equivalent to .5 FTE

  • Participating in the on-call rotation for the practice

Teaching and Admin

You will serve as our Clinical Director of Onco-Geriatrics and will have ample time for teaching in the outpatient settings with our interns, residents, and fellows. You will also serve as Clinical Director of Geriatrics for the Center for Cancer and Aging at DFCI.

Research Expectations

Total research FTE devoted to research will be 0.2. Any changes to this commitment will be determined in collaboration with and subject to the Division of Gerontology leadership.

Interested candidates should have: MD or DO from an accredited medical school

  • Board-certified or eligible in Geriatrics

  • A valid MA medical license or the ability to obtain one

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment

The candidate will be appointed to the faculty of Harvard Medical School at an academic rank commensurate with experience.

Pay Range:

$197,000 - $349,000

The base pay range reflects what Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (HMFP) reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this role at the time of posting and may be modified from time to time. Actual compensation within this range may be determined based on several factors, including academic appointment, work experience, specialty training, geography of work location, anticipated productivity, FTE basis, and role expectations. In addition to base compensation, this role may be eligible for performance-based incentives, which may include bonuses for productivity and quality HMFP also offers a comprehensive and generous employee benefits program to eligible employees, including health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, as well as retirement plan(s) with employer contributions.
