The Department of Psychology at the University of the Cumberlands invites applications for a full-time, 12-month Assistant or Associate Professor of Psychology position. We seek a dedicated and engaging educator who is passionate about undergraduate teaching, mentorship, and scholarship. The successful candidate will contribute to a dynamic and collaborative department that prepares students for graduate study and meaningful careers in psychology and related fields. Primary Responsibilities

  • Teach online undergraduate psychology courses in areas such as general psychology, research methods, developmental, cognitive, abnormal, or social psychology.
  • Develop and deliver high-quality instruction in online formats.
  • Advise and mentor undergraduate students in academic and professional development.
  • Participate in curriculum development and program assessment to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Engage in scholarly activities such as research and professional development.
  • Provide service to the department, university, and broader community consistent with the mission of the University of the Cumberlands.

Required Qualifications

  • Earned doctorate (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Psychology or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
  • Experience teaching at the college or university level.
  • Familiarity with online instructional technologies and delivery methods.
  • Commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and student-centered learning.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest in mentoring undergraduate research.
  • Active involvement in professional organizations in psychology.
