Position Summary


We are seeking a Sourcing Lead to support the development and execution of sourcing strategies for assigned categories in alignment with broader commodity objectives. This role is responsible for managing supplier relationships, driving cost competitiveness, and ensuring strong performance across delivery, quality, new product integration, and cost. The Sourcing Lead will work closely with cross-functional teams and suppliers to execute sourcing initiatives, support new product launches, and strengthen supply chain performance in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • APICS CPIM and/or ISM C.P.M./A.P.P. certification
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Experience working with MAPICS MRP or similar ERP systems
  • Background supporting complex product launches across multiple manufacturing sites

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a technical discipline
  • Minimum of 4 years of purchasing or related experience (e.g., sales, engineering)
  • Strong negotiation, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to leadership

Position Overview


The Sourcing Lead is responsible for managing existing and new supplier relationships to ensure strong communication, alignment, and performance across assigned categories of spend. This includes acting as a subject matter expert on supplier contracts, executing long-term agreements, statements of work, and supporting supplier selection through quoting events for new and revised parts based on commodity strategies.

Key responsibilities include evaluating supplier capabilities, identifying and implementing cost reduction initiatives, leading supplier and tooling transitions, and mitigating risks related to cost, capacity, tariffs, and delivery. The role manages cost, schedule, technical, and drawing release status for assigned projects and leads corrective actions when required.

The Sourcing Lead executes multi-year commodity strategies by establishing supplier cost-reduction targets, applying tools such as should-cost modeling, fact-based negotiation, and market analysis, and negotiating contractual commitments to deliver sustained savings. This role also supports make-versus-buy analysis, pricing resolution, and supplier performance management to ensure delivery, quality, and capacity requirements are met.

Additional responsibilities include supporting supplier quality investigations, assisting with part shortages, coordinating cross-functional resources for product development and launch activities, and connecting suppliers with engineering teams to introduce new technologies. The position requires strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and the capability to thrive in ambiguous environments while representing Polaris professionally with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
