Job Description:
The RN Trauma Coordinator position promotes optimal trauma care through clinical activities, professional and public education, research activities, quality assurance activities, and administrative functions. Helps to coordinate and facilitate the interdisciplinary needs of the trauma patient and their family. Work under general supervision and is accountable for own nursing practices while assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the nursing care standards and processes required to meet defined outcomes for the emergency and trauma patient population.
The Trauma Coordinator will coordinate with the Trauma Medical Director to provide leadership of the trauma patient care initiatives, staff development, quality initiatives, trauma performance improvement processes, and trauma program development.
Position Requirements:
Education-Associate Degree in Nursing required. Bachelors Degree preferred, must obtain Bachelors in Nursing within three years of hire.
Experience-Minimum of three years clinical experience in emergency nursing and trauma care required.
Certifications/Licenses-
Current registered nursing (RN) license or temporary permit from the State of Nebraska required.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the AHA required.
Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) required.
Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required.
Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) certification required within one year of hire.
