Position Summary
Conducts detailed reviews of client’s property tax data on the state and local level, while providing consulting services for these clients. Responsible for managing and leading complex personal property compliance projects and assessment reviews of machinery and equipment for industrial manufacturing, mining, oil & gas, communication, and energy property as well as implementation of tax savings recommendations and strategies and participating in business development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Conducts property tax reviews for DMA clients
Prepares written reports supporting DMA’s position for taxing authorities; reviews and submits periodic status reports to clients; prepares Letters of Findings and tax summary data for clients
Works with state and local tax officials to achieve optimal tax savings
Responsible for client account management as assigned
Stays abreast of state and local laws, court cases, statutes, and regulations
Performs detailed industry and economic research (i.e., research comparable companies, review financial statements) to identify potential opportunities for clients
Conducts physical inspections of manufacturing, communication, energy, mining, and oil & gas facilities and meets with on-site management
Assists with updating WIP reports and forecasting
Represents clients during audits and in hearings with taxing authorities
Participates in business development efforts as needed
Assists Directors and Sr. Tax Managers and other business development professionals in scoping and developing customized solutions for new and prospective clients
Manages, coordinates, and reviews activities of Tax Analysts and Sr. Tax Consultants
Researches more complex tax issues and opportunities for alternate reductions
Regularly looks for additional tax savings avenues for clients

Education and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Industrial Engineering, or related field, coursework in Appraisal desired
5+ years of experience in property tax consulting, appraisal, or related field
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office suite, specifically Excel
Organizational and interpersonal skills required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to meet travel requirements of the job – 25% at a minimum
Valid Driver’s License
