The Sommelier is responsible for leading the beverage program with a focus on exceptional guest experience, operational excellence, and strong financial performance. This role oversees wine cellar operations, staff beverage training, and guest-facing service on the restaurant floor. The Sommelier reports to the Food & Beverage leadership team and works closely with both front- and back-of-house employees to elevate the overall dining experience.
What You Will Do
Monitor and reconcile discrepancies in inventory, sales forecasts, and budget.
Work collaboratively to foster teamwork, communication, and a positive work environment across all F&B departments.
Provide professional floor service, recommending and serving beverage selections to guests.
Ensure correct service temperature, glassware, and presentation standards for all beverages.
Develop educational materials centered on wine knowledge, proper service, and professional standards.
Attend trade tastings to stay current on new products, vintages, and industry trends.
Manage and cultivate strong relationships with beverage suppliers, distributors, and industry partners.
Support additional tasks or projects as assigned based on business and departmental needs.
What You Bring
Excellent reading, writing, and verbal communication skills in English.
Previous fine dining experience required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and POS systems.
Comprehensive knowledge of wine, beer, and spirits.
Strong understanding of beverage cost controls and beverage program management (preferred).
Degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management, Beverage Management, or related field (preferred).
Sommelier Certification (preferred).
