Job Description:
Position Purpose:
The part-time Research Assistant (RA) will assist in research studies that examine alcohol use among young individuals working in different high-risk occupations and industries for alcohol misuse. Work activities involve participant recruitment and scheduling; conducting zoom-based research sessions and qualitative interviews/coding with study participants; participant tracking and retention; and managing participant payments. The RA is expected to collaborate with project staff and faculty to maintain variable directories and other project documentation, conduct library research as needed, and assemble materials for IRB modifications and progress reports. Opportunities for authorship on peer-reviewed publications will be available. The RA will report directly to one supervisor, with additional direction and project oversight from other department supervisors as assigned.
Job Qualification and Competencies
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Required: Proficiency in Word and Excel
Required: Experience in research design and experience with human subjects research
Experience in the fields of addiction and/or substance abuse is preferred
Flexibility in work schedule is preferable, including possible evening hours and weekends
