Yellowstone Retail is looking for friendly, enthusiastic, and passionate employees to provide unforgettable guest service to our visitors in our retail shops. We operate and maintain eleven retail outlets throughout the park. We don't sell souvenirs, we sell memories!
Job Summary:
This role involves providing exceptional guest service in line with Xanterra’s hospitality standards while performing cashier duties and promoting add-on sales. Responsibilities include managing inventory, organizing merchandise, maintaining a clean sales floor, and assisting the Gift Shop Manager with staff supervision and training. Additionally, the role requires compliance with environmental management practices and effective communication with management regarding any operational concerns.

Responsibilities
- Provide excellent guest service by adhering to Xanterra’s hospitality standards.
- Perform all cashiering duties while adhering to cash handling policies.
- Suggest add on sales to every transaction performed.
- Assist the Gift Shop Manager in organizing all back stock of gallery merchandise.
- Stock product as necessary, making sure all displays are kept stocked, neat and clean within the guidelines of the Retail Standards Manual.
- Receive orders and help maintain inventory levels in the shop. Complete orders, process shipping orders and transfers.
- Supervise inventory control procedures in the gallery. Keep accurate receiving and back stock records.
- Keep the sales floor clean; which includes sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, mopping, and trash removal.
- Give accurate helpful information to guests.
- Comply with Xanterra’s Environmental Management Systems (Ecologix) and look for ways to improve the impact your job has on the environment.
- Assist the Gift Shop Manager with staff supervision and training as needed.
- Discuss concerns only with the manager. Alert manager to shrinkage, guest problems and concerns. Maintain a good working relationship with Managers and co-workers.
- Maintain a safe work area.
Qualifications
- Able to operate a cash register, handle cash accurately, open and close the store with or without assistance.
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of Gift Shop procedures by completing the Gift Shop Training Program.
- Able to function with flexibility and courteous behavior in a high traffic seasonal retail operation.
- Acquire and demonstrate an advanced knowledge of products sold in the gallery including Native American jewelry and artifacts.
- Able to work with a minimum of supervision. Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality. Take breaks in appropriate area for limited time and use the time clock correctly.
- Able to keep accurate receiving and back stock records.
- Demonstrate awareness of general shop and gallery security and theft prevention.
- Able to identify stones/gems used in our jewelry.
- Demonstrate excellent sales approach and skills.
Physical Requirements include:
- Able to stand/walk for a minimum eight-hour shift.
- Frequently lift and carry cartons weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Carry boxes/product up and down stairs at most locations several times a day.
- Must be able to bend down or kneel to stock product frequently during a shift.
