The City of Pueblo is seeking POST certified candidates to be its next Court Marshal! As the Court Marshal in the Municipal Court, you’ll maintain order, decorum and security in the courtroom and building, arrest and escort persons out upon the judge’s direction, detrain and supervise defendants awaiting transport to county jail and transport prisoner to jails. You’ll also track court inmate census, execute arrest warrants within the Municipal Court, serve legal processes, deliver warrants and subpoenas to the Police Department and supervise the jury as necessary. Preferred Qualification: Three (3) years of experience in law enforcement, detention, security or related field.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
The duties of this position are primarily performed in an indoor environment, with occasional outdoor work. When working outdoors, the employee may work in and around traffic, severe weather conditions including rain, snow, and wind. Works around other hazards/dangers inherent to work near and around vehicular traffic. Individuals may be required to work evenings and weekends. Individuals must be willing to work overtime, as needed.
Basic first aid, CPR, and AED certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment. All required licenses and certifications must be maintained throughout the term of employment. Failure to obtain or maintain licenses and certifications may result in termination.
Due to Federal, State, and local Criminal Justice System access requirements, classifications that access and maintain criminal justice information may also be required, as a condition of employment, not to have been convicted of and/or have pending charges of a felony or misdemeanor crime or engaged in any other behavior that would deny or otherwise restrict access to criminal justice information. This requirement applies to all existing City employees as well as external candidates seeking to fill positions that meet the given criteria.
