Job Description
Teaching & Instruction Specialist III
The CITES office is seeking a dynamic and innovative Research and Program Evaluation Specialist to join our team. This role involves overseeing and conducting research and program evaluation for the BYU ARTS Partnership, consulting on program development and implementation, and providing administrative support. The ideal candidate will enrich our commitment to quality teaching and scholarly inquiry, contributing new perspectives to critical conversations in arts education locally, nationally, and internationally.
What you’ll do in this position:
Research, Evaluation, and Instructional Design
- Design and implement research in arts, arts integration, cultural arts, teacher development, student learning, and instructional practice
- Conduct research and evaluation within existing BYU ARTS partnership programs
- Provide consulting to improve course content and resources such as online lesson plans, PD courses, and micro-credentials. Publish articles and prepare reports on program outcomes
- Build needs assessments and analyze data to create training content
- Design and build instructor-led training, e-learning, and blended learning solutions
- Create engaging learning experiences incorporating best practices and adult-learning methodologies
Program Development and Implementation
- Develop curriculum and provide professional development for teachers in arts integration and cultural arts.
- Provide operational and administrative support for programming, including budgets and event management.
- Manage grant writing, reporting and timelines to support sustainable program growth.
- Oversee mentoring for selected teachers; train mentors and coordinate contacts.
- Support ARTS Partnership teachers and staff on job-embedded research and design; compile and report that information.
- Build relationships with faculty across campus to develop research and coordinate services for BYU students such as teacher candidates and graduate students.
Promotion of Programs, Writing, and Relationship Building
- Build strong professional relationships with subject matter experts, clients, and key stakeholders
- Contribute to program recruitment and implementation; oversee program quality. Share teacher and student stories of the impact of the arts
- Market the image of the BYU ARTS Partnership. Write reports, articles, and presentations for various audiences
- Participate in service/citizenship and outreach activities, including the BYU-Public School Partnership
- Participate in meetings and collaborations as assigned
Education/Experience
Minimum education/experience required:
- A firm commitment to the mission of BYU
- Master’s degree in a related field
- Understanding of exceptional instructional practices and strategies for measuring student learning and program effectiveness
- Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills. Proficiency in office technology (Word, Excel, Outlook, internet, social media)
- Knowledge and experience in the arts and arts integration
Preferred:
- Doctorate in a relevant content area
- 3-5 years of teaching experience in K-6 public schools
- Administrative experience
- Knowledge of job-embedded teacher research procedures and protocols
- Experience in teacher education and/or providing professional development
- Experience in securing external funds for research, training, and program development
- Ability to use technology in arts, communications, instruction, and content creation
- Experience with standards-based teaching and learning (National and Utah Core Standards)
- Experience in university-public school partnerships. Active participation in professional organizations

Pay Grade: 53
Typical Starting Pay: $71,000.00 to $92,500.00
