Properties Supervisor – Aspen Grove

Support Aspen Grove managers in providing guest services, custodial, maintenance and repair for Timp Lodge and support for Spring Haven by coordinating between all managers for care of property and guests, performing preventive maintenance tasks and improvements.

What you’ll do in this position:

  • Maintain cleanliness of assigned buildings by working alongside student/part-time employees
  • Clean and reset event and lodging spaces, including stripping and making beds and maintaining floors, bathrooms, and kitchens
  • Mentor, teach, train, motivate and discipline part-time employees when necessary
  • Perform Frequent Inspections of the Assigned Buildings to ensure cleanliness and functionality
  • Identify needs of buildings such as painting, electrical, HVAC, plumbing requirements
  • Respond appropriately to guest needs and feedback in a timely manner
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and replace electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems (such as outlets, light switches, fixtures, smoke and carbon monoxide dectors, furnaces, water heaters, exhaust fans, faucets, fixtures, bathtubs, sinks, piping and valves) along with other miscellaneous fixtures
  • Maintain and coordinate all property comings and goings at Timp Lodge, Spring Haven, and Aspen Grove such as transporting resources needed for property care, maintaining adequate stock of guest items, and keeping managers informed of scheduling items.

What qualifies you for this role:

Required

  • A firm commitment to the mission of BYU.
  • Previous experience performing housing maintenance tasks for multiple building components and systems, including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, and mechanical

Physical Exam and Lift Test Required

Physical Effort

Moderate – Physical effort represented by frequent handling of medium weight objects (approx. 20-50 lbs.) and materials, or use of medium weight hand tools. May require climbing and working from ladders or in awkward positions

Environment

  • Periodic exposure to unfavorable conditions because of unavoidable need to be in variable temperatures or wet environments, etc.

Hazards

  • Minimal existing or potential hazards

Physical Requirements

  • Handles large auger on occasion for about a30 minutes to an hour approximately 2 days per week while wearing face and hand protection devices.
  • Works inside cabinets and other tight places for about 1 hour approximately 3 times per day wearing gloves, coat, and headgear when necessary.
  • Works on ladders up to 16 feet in height for about 1 hour approximately once a day while wearing a safety harness when above 6 feet
  • Works with electrical systems for about 30 minutes approximately 2 times per day wearing gloves and safety glasses

Preferred

  • 3+ years of experience performing housing maintenance tasks for multiple building components and systems, including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, and mechanical
  • Bachelor’s degree highly preferred
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills

Pay Grade: 50

Typical Starting Pay:

$25.00 – $32.50 hourly

$52,500 – $68,000 annually

The actual compensation offered will take into consideration internal equity and may vary based on the candidate’s job-related experience, knowledge, skills, and other relevant factors. Candidates with very significant work-related experience may receive an offer higher than the posted typical range.
