Job Summary
Better Being Co. is looking for a Credit & Collections Specialist to manage customer accounts, ensure timely responses to credit requests and inquiries, and maintain accuracy in line with company policies. This role handles delinquent accounts, resolves discrepancies and disputes, and works closely with customers and internal teams to ensure efficient collections and account accuracy.
Essential Functions
Ensure timely responses to credit requests and inquiries.
Assure accuracy and adherence to company policies.
Develop a strong understanding of our products, supply chain, customers, accounting procedures and pricing.
Develop a strong working relationship with various business partners including sales team,
customer service, finance, distribution and operations.
Reviews status of delinquent accounts and initiates collection action by contacting each account according to due date.
Prepares correspondence on delinquent accounts requiring special handling.
Research disputed account balances. Corrects any errors, including misapplied payments.
Work with Customers via email or phone to resolve discrepancies and disputes.
Additional Responsibilities
Required to demonstrate competency on all essential job functions of the department.
Support of and involvement in company, department, and/or safety policies, procedures, programs, and activities.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Ensure a high level of accuracy and adherence to established KPI’s.
Review processes and provide recommendations for improvements to drive more efficiency.
Job Qualifications
Previous accounting/AR/Collections or Customer Service experience required.
Must have knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in spreadsheets, word
processing, and database software. Understanding of Electronic Data Interface (EDI) preferred.
Ability to read and interpret documents and general business documents. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Good verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages. Knowledge of internal controls.\
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to sit; and talk or hear.
The employee must exert up to ten lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to five lbs. of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include near acuity, far acuity, depth perception, accommodation, color vision, and field of vision.
