The Electrical Test Supervisor is responsible for leading the maintenance and reliability of electrical testing equipment used in wire harness manufacturing. This role ensures that all test systems operate efficiently, meet customer specifications, and comply with internal quality and safety standards. The position plays a critical role in supporting production continuity by minimizing downtime and ensuring the integrity of electrical testing processes, while coordinating closely with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities and Main Activities:
Supervise and coordinate daily activities of electrical test technicians within the maintenance area.
Ensure proper functionality, calibration, and preventive maintenance of electrical test boards, continuity testers, and high-voltage (hipot) equipment
Troubleshoot and repair electrical test systems, fixtures, and related hardware/software issues
Support production lines by ensuring test equipment uptime and quick response to failures
Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance plans for test equipment
Collaborate with Engineering on new product launches, test board validation, and engineering changes (ECR/ECO)
Ensure all test systems comply with customer requirements and internal quality standards
Analyze test failures and work with Quality and Manufacturing teams to identify root causes and corrective actions
Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, calibration records, and equipment history
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and improve test efficiency (OEE)
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies (EHS)
Train and develop maintenance technicians on test equipment and troubleshooting methods.
Experience/Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field (preferred)
Technical degree with strong relevant experience may be considered.
3-7 years of experience in maintenance or electrical testing within a manufacturing environment.
Experience in wire harness industry strongly preferred
Previous supervisory or team leadership experience required.
Languages
Spoken and Written English
Knowledge:
Strong knowledge of electrical testing systems (continuity, resistance, hipot testing)
Experience with test boards, harness testers (e.g, Dynalab, or similar)
Understanding of wiring diagrams, schematics, and harness drawings
Knowledge of PLCs and basic automation troubleshooting (preferred)
Familiarity with preventive maintenance systems
Root cause analysis tools (5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.)
