Powderbird, founded in 1973, is a leader in helicopter skiing, offering premier single-day and multi-day heli-skiing and lodging packages. Based at Snowbird Resort in Utah, we are the only permitted helicopter ski outfitter in the state. Our heli-skiing and riding adventures depart daily from our heliport located slopeside at Snowbird, and we also offer guided expeditions at destinations around the world, including the Arctic mountains of Greenland.

Our operations include a fleet of high-performance aircraft and a team of experienced guides dedicated to providing exceptional mountain experiences. When weather conditions limit helicopter access, we offer alternative full-day guided skiing at Snowbird, complete with lift line access and amenities at The Cliff Lodge. Powderbird’s unique location in the Wasatch Mountains, just 45 minutes from Salt Lake City International Airport, makes it an ideal place to work for those passionate about skiing and the outdoors.

Job Summary:
Powderbird is seeking a Chef for their winter season. This position is responsible for the kitchen and helping prep, cook, and present breakfast and lunch to our guests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Direct and help prepare, cook, and presents meals to Powderbird guests daily

  • Direct and help set up, restock, and break down dining area for meals, including refilling beverage coolers

  • Aid in the creation and implementation of breakfast and lunch menus that enhances the unique experience of Powderbird

  • Ordering and maintaining food stock levels, this can include making one off purchases of menu items (such as running to Costco, Smith's, or any other local grocery store)

  • Cook employee meals as required

  • Present buffet style meals that cater towards the Powderbird guest experience

  • Ability to adapt & cater to specific requests

  • Consistently deliver high quality meals each day

  • Work with Manager and Heliport Steward to ensure kitchen and other areas are held to an exceptional standard of cleanliness

  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines

  • Other duties as assigned

Required knowledge, skills, and experience:

  • High school degree or GED equivalent required

  • Valid state issued driver’s license

  • Previous culinary experience is required

  • ServSafe Certification will be required

  • Committed to safety in all aspects of work

  • Previous experience in the hospitality or resort industry preferred

  • Ability to lift and carry loads up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to work on your feet for up to 12 hours a day

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written

  • Must be able to hear normal conversations in a busy, crowded environment

  • Vision must be within normal range to work safely and to read written information

  • Must have the dexterity to use all equipment and utensils normally associated with the position
