Stovepipe Wells in Death Valley National Park - Journey Beyond the Ordinary. Stovepipe Wells has an 80-room hotel, restaurant, bar, pool, gas station, general store, and gift shop. Stovepipe is a welcoming, safe, and environmentally responsible resort providing accommodations and services inside Death Valley National Park. POWDR operates Stovepipe Wells under a long-term concession contract with the National Park Service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Breakfast Service & Execution
- Prepare and execute all breakfast menu items, including eggs, pancakes, breakfast meats, potatoes, baked goods, and hot/cold offerings
- Set up, maintain, and break down a high-volume breakfast buffet with attention to quality, freshness, and presentation
- Monitor and replenish buffet items efficiently to ensure consistent availability during peak hours
- Prepare made-to-order items such as eggs or pancakes as needed
- Maintain proper food temperatures and adhere to all food safety and sanitation standards
- Anticipate volume needs and prepare batches accordingly while minimizing waste
Kitchen Operations
- Take direction from the Sous Chefs and F&B Manager and communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff
- Assist with early morning kitchen setup, including prepping ingredients, organizing stations, and ensuring service readiness
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized workspace throughout the shift
- Stock, label, and rotate food items following FIFO and proper storage practices
- Support transition from breakfast to lunch service or other outlets as needed
Food Safety & Compliance
- Follow all California food safety standards, including proper handling, labeling, and storage
- Complete all required food safety training and actively participate in audits and corrective actions
- Must possess a valid California Food Handler Card at time of hire and maintain a current, valid certification throughout employment.
- Practice proper hygiene, including handwashing and glove use
- Report illness to management and do not work while sick
Team & Work Environment Expectations

- Communicate clearly with kitchen and front-of-house staff to support efficient service
- Demonstrate a team-first mindset by stepping in to assist coworkers and support overall kitchen operations as needed
- Adapt to a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining quality and consistency
- Arrive on time, in proper uniform, and maintain professional appearance standards
Schedule & Availability
- This position is primarily scheduled for early morning/breakfast shifts
- Flexibility is required based on business levels, including the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Willingness to adjust schedules and support different shifts or kitchen areas as needed is essential
