A Brief Overview
Manages the work activities of Environmental Services' Supervisors and EVS Staff members throughout the system. Direct activities for stopping the spread of infections in all facilities. Plan, oversee and Inspect work performed by the EVS Supervisors and EVS staff to ensure that it meets all procedures, processes, specifications and established standards. Plan and prepare employee work schedules. Perform or assist with cleaning duties as a form of training and support as necessary. Investigate complaints about service and equipment and take appropriate corrective actions in consult with the Director of EVS. Coordinate activities and foster productive relationships with other departments to ensure that services are provided in an efficient and timely manner. Provide training, support and mentoring of the EVS Supervisory and Leadership Team. Check equipment to ensure that it is in working order. Inspect and evaluate the physical condition of facilities to determine the type of work required. Select the most suitable cleaning materials for different types of linens, furniture, flooring, and surfaces. Instruct staff in work policies and procedures, and the use and maintenance of equipment. May perform the destruction of discarded patient health information. Maintains and utilizes software used in Environmental Services department. Assists to develop and provide training and support for staff in regard to our Hazardous Waste Programs. Assists the Director of EVS in administering all EVS functions, documentation and compliance related protocols.
