Idaho Power — located in vibrant Boise, Idaho — is looking for System Administrators or Senior System Administrators to join either our Design Application Support or Metering System Support teams within the Information Technology (IT) department. It’s an exciting time to work for Idaho Power. While this position is based at Idaho Power’s downtown Boise location, we offer both flexible schedules and the opportunity to work up to 40% remote.
What does a System Administrator or Senior System Administrator do for us?
They analyze, install, configure, upgrade, test, document, monitor, and maintain software and hardware in support of business processing requirements. The supported systems may include operating systems, business applications, server hardware, security tools, monitoring tools, Web servers, Application servers, Integration servers, and other departmental or enterprise applications or systems. They provide technical support for problems not resolved by the Integrated Operations Center or IT Service Desk. Additional job duties include:
The role requires coordination across infrastructure, cybersecurity, database, and vendor teams to ensure secure, compliant, and reliable operation of the platform, as well as ownership of environment configurations across development, test, and production systems. The position also supports ongoing maintenance, upgrades, troubleshooting, and long-term sustainability of the Accruent Meridian Engineering Document Management System (EDMS) or Metering Management platform within a regulated enterprise environment.
A Senior System Administrator also participates in the development and execution of technology strategies to support organizational activities and direction. They provide an advanced level support for systems, including troubleshooting, performance, monitoring, cost-benefit, security, and licensing analysis. They are expected to stay aware of industry trends, business requirements, and technical design methodologies to aid in the development of creative/innovative IT/OT solutions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires working at a desk/computer for extended periods of time. It requires the use of office equipment, fine motor skills including typing on the computer, dialing phones, filing paper, and working in close proximity to other people. The employees operate with routine guidance within their area of expertise, effectively addressing a range of straightforward issues by evaluating viable solutions and applying established procedures. They also participate in 24x7 on call rotation.
Senior System Administrator
This position will have more in-depth technical knowledge in own discipline. They are expected to have more experience with project management skills and be proficient with time management while being able to manage multiple projects at once. They also participate in 24x7 on call rotation.
